Process water and feedwater

In the course of process water treatment, targeted process technologies adapt waters to suit respective requirements. Ion exchange enables ions to be selectively removed from the water. We refer to softening or demineralisaton (partial or complete demineralisation), depending on the resin or resin combination. Oxygen or carbon dioxide is removed from the water by degassing processes. Degassing processes are mainly used in the treatment of feedwater.
Often, the process technologies described are preceded by prefiltration or fine filtration stages, or membrane processes (ultrafiltration or reverse osmosis) are also used.
