Stainless steel compact shaft for well type Hydro-Hex 1600

The Hydro-Hex 1600 well shaft is a compact, pre-assembled solution for the safe sealing and technical fitting out of groundwater wells. Manufactured entirely from stainless steel, the shaft combines the wellhead, pipework, fittings and electrical and safety equipment in a space-saving design.

Thanks to extensive prefabrication at the factory, the amount of on-site assembly work is significantly reduced. The corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction is durable and low-maintenance.

Compact design – cost-effective installation

The Hydro-Hex 1600 has a hexagonal layout and was developed specifically for smaller well systems.

Its compact design offers significant advantages:

- Space-saving design thanks to the hexagonal layout
- High degree of prefabrication with well equipment installed at the factory
- Short installation times as the unit is delivered largely ready for installation
- Corrosion-resistant design made from 1.4162 stainless steel
- Operational reliability thanks to integrated drainage, ventilation and electrical equipment
- Ease of maintenance thanks to separate access and installation openings

Design and Construction

The well shaft is constructed from folded, 3 mm-thick stainless steel sheet with tightly welded joints and external stiffeners.
The top cover features two separate openings: a DN 600 installation opening for fitting and removing the well pump, and a DN 800 access opening for inspection and maintenance work. Both openings are each fitted with 800 mm high domes.
The shaft floor consists of non-slip chequered plate with an integrated pump sump and a welded-in well head. The design allows for anchoring to a concrete foundation provided by the client to prevent buoyancy.
All stainless steel components are gas-shielded welded, pickled and passivated.

Fully equipped for well operations

The Hydro-Hex 1600 is supplied with a comprehensive range of technical equipment. This includes, in particular:

Hydraulic equipment

- Wellhead DN 300 with pump bearing plate
- Delivery pipe DN 65 with shut-off and non-return valves
- Magnetic-inductive flow meter (MID)
- Flushing and sampling valves, as well as pressure measurement

Operational and safety equipment

- Safety ladder with climbing aid
- Drainage pump with pump sump
- Ventilation and room dehumidification
- LED lighting and emergency lighting
- Electrical installation with protective devices
- Equipotential bonding and external earthing connection

Factory prefabrication – simple on-site assembly

The well shaft is fitted out almost entirely at the factory. This reduces the amount of installation work required on site and simplifies the assembly process.

The Hydro-Hex 1600 thus offers a cost-effective alternative to conventionally constructed well shafts, particularly for smaller well systems.

Special designs and project-specific adaptations are available on request.
